Moving data from a spreadsheet into a relational database is one of the most common data-engineering tasks. Converting a CSV to SQL INSERT statements gives you a script you can run directly in any SQL client — no GUI import tool, no database driver, no custom script required.
What the SQL output contains
ConvertRow generates one INSERT INTO statement per CSV row, using your column headers as field names. String values are single-quoted and properly escaped; numeric values are left unquoted. An optional CREATE TABLE statement with inferred column types can be prepended to the output.
Compatible with all major databases
The output follows ANSI SQL syntax and works with MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and SQL Server. Minor dialect differences (like MySQL backticks vs PostgreSQL double-quotes for identifiers) may require small adjustments, but the INSERT statement format is universally accepted.
Security note
The generated SQL is for trusted data migration — not for use in dynamic queries in application code. Always review the output before running it on a production database and test on a staging environment first.
The conversion is private and local
SQL dumps often contain customer records, financial data, or application state. ConvertRow processes your CSV entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored remotely.
