XML remains the lingua franca of enterprise systems, SOAP web services, configuration files, and product data feeds. Converting a CSV to XML lets you feed tabular data into these systems without writing a custom transformation script or learning XSLT.
What the output looks like
ConvertRow wraps each CSV row in a <row> element and each cell in a child element named after the column header. The result is a well-formed XML document with a UTF-8 declaration and properly escaped special characters. You can validate, transform, or import this directly into any XML-aware application.
Important: XML element name rules
XML element names cannot contain spaces, start with numbers, or include characters like &, <, or >. Before converting, rename any CSV columns that do not follow these rules. Use underscores or camelCase in place of spaces — for example, rename “First Name” to “first_name”.
Browser-based, no server required
The conversion runs locally in your browser. Your CSV data is never sent to a server, which makes this tool appropriate for proprietary product data, pricing information, or any dataset you need to keep private.
Use cases
Common applications include importing data into legacy ERP systems, generating product feeds for shopping platforms, creating configuration files for XML-driven frameworks, and preparing test fixtures for XML processing pipelines.
